Available Programs
Players who assess are divided into groups based on age and fundamental skills. Following the assessment, players are drafted onto teams by their volunteer coaches. Practices begin shortly after with Opening Day occurring in early April. The season concludes at the end of May.
Baseball
T-Ball
T-Ball consists of players who are league age 4 to 6. This division is primarily designed for players league age 4 and 5. A player who is league age 6 and has no prior youth baseball experience may choose to enroll at this level of play.
Prep Minors
Machine Pitch consists of player members who are league age 7 and 8. Teams are formed based primarily on school location. Every effort is made to balance player skill level equally among the teams. A player member who is league age 6 and has had T-Ball experience may choose to enroll at this level of play. Teams may travel throughout the Treasure Valley to play interleague games.
A Minors
A Minors Baseball consists of player members who are league age 9. This division is intended to bridge the gap between Rookies and AA Minors, providing younger players a more appropriate atmosphere to develop skills. In this division, coaches focus on the reinforcement of fundamental skills including pitching, catching, proper throwing motion, base running and proper swing mechanics. Less emphasis is on the competitive aspects of the game at this level of play, instead focusing on the rules of baseball and strategies of the game. Players with at least two years’ experience in Rookies who are league 8 may be eligible to play in A Minors. Teams may travel throughout the Treasure Valley to play interleague games.
Requests for team placement with friends, schoolmates or carpool needs will be considered but are not guaranteed.
AA Minors
AA Minors Baseball consists of player members who are league age 10 and 11. In this division, coaches continue efforts on fundamental skills while focusing players in set positions and rotations. Players learn the competitive aspects of the game at this level of play with an emphasis on sportsmanship. Teams may travel throughout the Treasure Valley to play interleague games.
PLAYER ASSESSMENTS: Assessment is required. All players in this division will participate in a skills assessment prior to the start of the season. Teams are formed by a player draft annually. Not all players attending assessments will be placed on a team within this division due to skill level, space limitations, and safety concerns.
Requests for team placement with friends, schoolmates or carpool needs will be considered but are not guaranteed. All requests must be approved by the Board.
Majors
Majors Baseball consists of player members who are league age 11 and 12. In this division, players should demonstrate skill, leadership and maturity. Coaches focus on enhancing the player’s skills, rules knowledge and situational baseball in a competitive environment. Managing style may or may not dictate equal playing time; however, minimum play rules are followed. Teams will travel throughout the Treasure Valley to play interleague games.
PLAYER ASSESSMENTS: Assessment is required. All players in this division will participate in a skills assessment prior to the start of the season. Teams are formed by a player draft annually. Assessments are used to determine the level of play. All league age 12 players will be drafted into the Majors or above division. All exceptions to this rule must be approved by the District Administrator.
Major’s teams may only have a max of eight league age 12-year-olds.
Requests for team placement with friends, schoolmates or carpool needs will be considered but are not guaranteed. All requests must be approved by the Board.
Intermediate (50/70)
Intermediate Baseball consists of player members who are league age 12 and 13. In this division, players should demonstrate skill, leadership and maturity. Coaches focus on enhancing the player’s skills, rules knowledge and situational baseball in a competitive environment. Managing style may or may not dictate equal playing time; however, minimum play rules are followed. Teams will travel throughout the Treasure Valley to play interleague games.
Intermediate Baseball is a transition division to prepare players for the Juniors Division (60/90). The difference between Majors (46/60) and Intermediate (50/70) is the distance from home plate to the pitching rubber and base paths. The Major’s pitching distance is 46 feet and base path distance is 60 feet while Intermediate’s pitching distance is 48.5 feet and the base path distance is 70 feet. Many of the Junior League rules are used such as runners being permitted to lead off bases, runners may attempt to steal at any time, and allowing an on-deck batter.

Juniors or Seniors
Every year we are tasked to deciding whether to have a Junior’s or Seniors program. The differences are as follows.
Junior’s Baseball consists of player members who are league age 12 - 14.
In these divisions, players should demonstrate skill, leadership and maturity. Coaches focus on enhancing the player’s skills, rules knowledge and situational baseball in a competitive environment. Managing style may or may not dictate equal playing time; however, minimum play rules are followed. Teams will travel throughout the Treasure Valley to play interleague games.
The Junior League Baseball Division is a program for boys and girls ages 12-14, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches.
The Senior League Baseball Division is for boys and girls 13-16 years old, using a conventional 90-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches.

Softball
The age of a softball player as of December 31 of the previous year is the player’s league age for the season (ex. If a player turns 10 on December 15 (of the PREVIOUS year), that player is considered league age 10; however, if the player is 10 on February 15 of the playing year, she is considered league age 9 since she was 9 on December 31).
T-Ball

Rookies
Rookies (coach pitch) consists of player members who are league age 7 and 8. Teams are formed based primarily on school location. Managing style may or may not dictate equal playing time; however, minimum play rules are followed. Teams will travel throughout the Treasure Valley to play interleague games.
